Chapter 3 Part 4 and 5

 

Hello everyone, my name is Namira Hasnalma Aisyah and Im from 27 Senior High School Class XI Science 1. So, today I want to tell you about how to make something but let me explain about what is procedure text.

Procedure is a text that shows a process in order. Its social function is to describe how something is completely done through a sequence of series. Or

(1)Texts that explain how something works or how to use instruction / operation manuals e.g. how to use the video, the computer, the tape recorder, the photocopier, the fax                                                     (2) Texts that instruct how to do a particular activity e.g. recipes, rules for games, science experiments, road safety rules.
(3) Texts that deal with human behaviour eg how to live happily, how to succeed.

Generic Structure:

1. Goal : It is containt the purpose of the text.
2. Material or Ingredient : it is containt of the materials that used in the process.
3. Step : it is containt of the steps to make something in the goal.

The Purpose:

1. To explain/tell (the reader) how to make/operate/do something through a sequence of actions or steps.

2. To explain steps/instruction to make/operate/do something

The Characteristic:

1. Use adverbial of sequence / Using temporal conjunction (e.g: first, second, third, the last)
2. Use command / imperative sentence (e.g : put the noodles on the . . ., cut the onion. . ., wash the tomatoes. . . )
3. Using action verb
4. Using Simple Present Tense 

How to make procedure text is a text that explain the steps of making something, usually many people use it for explaining how to make some food, and other. For example like how to make a fried egg, how to make an Indomie, and many other things.

How to make text:

                                                    How to make a  Pancake

                                    

Ingredients and materials:

1. 3 – 4 spoonful of flour

2. 2 eggs

3. 1 ½ (250 ml) of milk

4. 1 stick of butter

5. 1 mixing bowl

6. 2 table spoons

7. 2 cups

8. 1 small pan

Step:

1. First, Put the flour in the bowl.
2. Second, Put milk in a cup.
3. Third, Make sure it’s 250 ml of milk.
4. Fourth, Put the milk in the bowl.
5. Fifth, Break the 2 eggs into the bowl.
6. After that, Mix it with a spoon.
7. Then, Heat up the pan and put the butter
8. Eighth, Put the mix in the pan.
9. Ninth, Let the pancake mix cook about 5 minutes.
10. Tenth, Flip pancake over when the top is brown.
11. Finally, your pancake is ready to be serve
